Hi There
I’m Eloise, Founder of Heidi’s Tallow Skincare.
I started this business in 2023. With a background in acting, looking after my skin became important to me at a very young age.
I discovered Tallow at a time in my life when I was thoroughly fed-up with the “Natural Skincare” spiel. I was in the midst of transitioning to a low-tox lifestyle and had an entire shelf in my bathroom dedicated to “Natural Skincare”. Only not a single product on it was genuinely “natural”. Phthalates, Fragrance, the list goes on. Not to mention the fact that they were all at least 80% water based and for the most part, ineffective.
I was really tired of investing my hard earned money in “Natural” products that left my skin feeling dry and tight. I yearned for a product that would truly nourish me and care for my complexion on a deeper level. It was about here that an ad for Tallow popped up on my phone one day. I must admit I was a little on the fence at first - beef fat on my face? Really? But the science spoke for itself. Human civilisations had been using animal fats on their skin for thousands of years. Our great-grandmothers used soap made from animal fat, and yes, the beef dripping your Nan cooked with literally was tallow. So, with research and foundation to support I purchased my first jar of tallow skincare. Honestly I really wanted to love it, but the lavender scent I ordered was so overpowering I just wasn’t convinced it would work for me. However the thought of chucking it in the bin and going back to the many vegan alternatives on the market left me feeling frustrated and disappointed…
So I decided to attempt rendering my own tallow, and boy am I glad I did! The very first batch was a success and best of all, my skin loved it. A little while later I gifted some to my cousin for her baby’s eczema - she had tried some other tallow brands but the relief her child experienced using mine was really incredible. Next I gave some to my Mum and as a woman in her 60s she was bowled over by the transformation in her skin - to this day she is hooked! It wasn’t long at all before I ran out of my first batch and so began my passion for Beef Tallow skincare.
My process has been thoroughly refined since that first batch in 2023, ensuring absolute preservation of the ingredient’s integrity and overall quality of our final product. I am so proud and grateful to be on this journey bringing ancient wisdom into the precious homes and lives of others.

Why We Choose Olive Oil For Our Tallow Blend
At Heidi’s Tallow we are proud to produce a genuinely edible product. This is because we use the original combination recorded to have been used in ancient Greece as early as 3000BCE - beef tallow cut with a fraction of food-grade extra virgin olive oil.
In recent years the use of jojoba has become increasingly popular in commercial tallow blends. We chose early on not to use it because it contains Erucic acid, which is actually not safe to ingest over long periods and therefore not baby safe.
The presence of olive oil in our blends adds a number of positive benefits to our products, beginning with optimum skin absorption due to its high concentration of the antioxidant squalene. Additionally, olive oil helps to boost your skin’s hydration, promote collagen growth and lock in moisture for a radiant and glowing complexion. It is also the reason our tallow is so decadently fluffy & white!

Our Promise
It is our wish to spread knowledge and understanding of the ancient practice of Tallow for skincare. We have taken the time to refine and perfect our process and product in order to deliver the very best that Tallow Skincare has to offer, both in quality and price. From day one we have sourced our suet locally and will continue to do so, as we strongly believe in supporting our local farmers here in the Bundaberg region. Our goal is to provide people with safe, nourishing and traditional skincare, to craft body butters, face & lip balms free from hormone disruptors and carcinogens found in many mainstream products today. Our product is so safe, so natural, you could literally eat it!
